“Our second largest electric bus market is in Romania”
Karsan CEO Okan Baş said, “The future of transportation passes through electric and driverless public transportation vehicles. We continue our investments in this area without slowing down. Since 2018, we have been bringing our 100 percent, electric models, together on the roads one after the other. While Atak Electric and Jest Electric continue to be Europe's zero-emission choices, they have also covered more than 1 million kilometers and provided us with an important experience. Today, our electric buses serve in many countries around the world, from Romania, France, Germany, Portugal, and even Mexico. Romania is a very valuable market for us. After France, our largest electric bus park, with 65 units, is located in Romania. In addition, Romania is a country that adapts very quickly to the electric transformation in transportation. We are responding to Romania's rapid transformation and efficient public transportation needs with our high-tech electrical products in all sizes from 6 meters to 18 meters. In terms of keeping pace with the technological transformation, the dynamics of the Karsan brand and the dynamics of Romania quite overlap with each other.” while speaking at the signing ceremonies held within the scope of the two bids won.
